Decorative coating

Decorative coating

Can be used to decorate a large number of people's livelihood hardware or plastic part...
Detail
The decorative coating is a method of depositing a thin film on the surface of the product by means of electroplating, so that the appearance of the product shows different colors.
In addition to the change in color, it can also increase the wear resistance of the product surface and prolong the service life. It is a process to increase the aesthetics and service life of the product. The plating methods are mostly divided into   electroplating and vacuum plating used by more and more manufacturers in the later stage.  The process of  electroplating is that the anode is dissolved and the cathode is attached. The film is attached to the surface of the product by electrochemical reaction.  It is mainly used to create high-reflection mirror effect and increase adhesion layer. The advantage is that it can plate large-area products, and the cost is low. The disadvantage is that the electrolyte is highly toxic and the industrial pollution is serious.

Vacuum plating is also  called physical vapor deposition (PVD), which is applicable to a wide range of materials. Almost all metals, alloys and ceramic materials can be coated.  The cost of the equipment used for vacuum plating is high, and the production process is complicated . Therefore, the cost of vacuum plating is higher than the  electroplating. Its plating color is richer than  electroplating, and the resulting film has better adhesion on the product surface and better color retention. Generally, the gas used in the coating process can be used to plate different colors, thereby the color can be quantified and the plated color can be maintained stable.

The common processes of vacuum plating are thermal evaporation, sputtering and gun coating. The film obtained by vacuum coating is very thin, and can be coated with a variety of plastics such as ABS, PE, PP, PVC...etc. The requirements for the surface quality of the plated parts are relatively high, and because the volume of the boiler equipment for the evaporation is small, the number of plated parts is less than that of  electroplating, and the production efficiency is low.
In terms of advantages, the film layer formed by vacuum plating has high hardness, high wear resistance, good corrosion resistance and chemical stability, a longer film life, and can greatly improve the appearance durability of the workpiece.

Decorative coatings are widely used in the market, such as electronic peripherals,  accessories, doors and windows, hardware tools ... and other industries. The materials used are Ti, Zr, Cr, C, TiAl...etc. By passing different gases, dark gold, light gold, brown, gray, black, blue, purple, rose gold, cyan and green can be formed.
