• Q: Why does the evaporation boat break?
A: Evaporation boat is not an instrument that can be used for a long time. Even if it can be reused, it is still a kind of consumable. Therefore, it is recommended to replace it after a period of time. Excessive voltage or heating time is too long during use, even the residue of the material to be plated will affect the service life of the evaporation boats.
  • Q: I want to buy a crucible, is there a current product?
A: In general, crucibles are customized products, unlike evaporation boats with fixed specifications (such as #310), so there will be no existing products.

Depending on the experiment or process requirements, the material and size of crucibles are different. For example, crucibles used for electron beam evaporation, because the size must be matched with the holder, to avoid poor heat dissipation; and because of the evaporation angle and the amount of coating material, the requirements for crucible specifications are particularly strict.

From the most basic upper and lower diameters and heights to the inner and outer chamfering, accurate measurements are required.

At the same time as the quotation request is made, we will ask you to provide the drawings or detailed specifications. If neither of them is available, samples will be requested for subsequent operations.

What size specifications are required; please refer to our official website album.

  • Q: Can quartz monitor crystals be reused?

A: Since quartz is a very sensitive material, it will affect its ability to detect film thickness after using or touching it. Unless the requirements for film thickness detection are not too strict, it is basically not recommended for reuse.

  • Q: Why sputtering targets break during the process?

A: There are many reasons that caused the result.

    1. The Indium used for bonding is not painted enough.
    2. Something wrong with the water cooling system that caused heat can’t be dissipated successfully.
    3. The working hour is taking too long.
    4. The current is abnormal and can’t be solved in time to make the sputtering target unbearable.
    5. The electric power application is too heavy.
  • Q: Why crucibles suddenly crack?

A: As the hours of use and frequencies increase, impurities of target residue will accumulate in the crucibles. Those impurities will affect the melting point of crucibles.

Moreover, if the magnetic field of electron gun is set incorrectly; the electric beam might miss the coating materials but go astray to the crucibles.

Furthermore, the abnormality of cooling water system also affects the heat dissipation. Once the heat cannot be dissipated, the crucibles will break easily under the high temperature.
